Anthem Open Demo Set To Replace VIP Demo
Here we go again...
|
EA’s exclusive early-access beta for Anthem released late last week as a test run of the finished article, was not a hick-up free affair. Unfortunately, during the trial-run, now dead and buried, players ran into a host of technical problems and performance issues. That said, the limited-time offering did streamline the service daily, yet system crashes and never-ending loading screens added insult to injury.
Following fan feedback, there was speculation that Bioware and EA may elongate the VIP demo experience, at least for those who encountered issues. But alas, time is up. As a result, the short-term demo has now been terminated, as of January 25th. Short and sweet you might say? Well, bittersweet perhaps sums it up, more accurately.
No matter, EA and Bioware will have another bite at the cherry. When the public demo releases on Feb 1st. Again, a timed-trial, in what will be a three-day window, before Anthem’s official release on February 22nd. Clearly then, EA and Bioware are sure to amend any previous problems with the next pre-release.
Anthem will be available on all major platforms including PS4, Origin for the PC and Xbox One. However, those that wish to sample the goods early can gain pre-access from mid-Feb up until release. That is if you’re an EA Access and Origin Access member.
Hear at Latestgameplay, we’ve had a chance to experience Anthem, so we’ll have some first impressions for you soon on down the road. Mainly though, it’s just utter bliss to blast through the air in those high-powered exo-suits.
What are you most feverish for in Anthem? Do early-release demos and timed exclusives justify a place in the industry? Or are they part of an elaborate marketing stunt or ploy? Please write in with your views on the topic. We would love to get your stance on the subject.
