The Top 5 Games to Hit Stores This Feb

Love is in the air...

If January is the month of failed New Year’s resolutions, then February is a time of love or instead morbid rejection, depending on your situation. If for whatever reason you’re missing a dishy-date during the annual Valentines period, then we’ve got you covered. Besides, games can provide more enjoyment than a candlelit dinner with a love interest ever could. That’s just my opinion, and probably the overwhelming reason as to why I’m single. Of course, my heart yearns for companionship, but right now I’m romantically attached to games, and that doesn’t look like changing in a hurry. Sorry ladies! Putting my diabolical love-life to one side for a sec, here is our list of the top 5 games to hit stores this Feb.

Metro Exodus

Kickstarting the list is the dystopian first-person shooter Metro Exodus. Fans of the franchise will be chuffed to hear that Artyom will once again take center stage as the lead protagonist. Set two years following the events of “Metro Last Light” players must once more step out into a dark and terrifying world full of unimaginable horrors, and things that go bump in the night. That said, the most action you’ll get come February 15th is clinging on to your pillow for dear life. Besides, romance is overrated.

Anthem

The developers BioWare will be looking to make amends for their somewhat disappointing Andromeda. The fallout of which had a “Mass-Effect” on the series (See what I did there). However, the dev-team can redeem themselves with Anthem, an all-new massive multiplayer online game. Thematically, it looks and feels like Bungie’s Destiny in many ways, just with more high-flying acrobatics. Man, those javeline exo-suits look awesome, don’t they? Anthem is set to release on Friday 22nd of Feb.

God Eater 3

Third, on our list of the top 5 games to hit stores this Feb is God Eater 3. A rip-roaring RPG developed by Bandai Namco. If that’s not enough to strike the fear of God into you, then I don’t know what is. Almost five years after the series sequel, it’s about time we put those “God Arc-full” weapons to good use and banished those demons to the afterlife once and for all. Why do you have to go and drain the planet of its natural resources? Come on, where’s the love, you rotten fiends! Let’s hope it gives Monster Hunter World a run for its money when the title hits shelves on Friday. 8th February.

Far Cry New Dawn

Forth to grace the scene is the upcoming role-playing game Far Cry New Dawn, a spin-off in the series canon, which continues the story on from the fifth entry in the franchise. Players once again get to roam the fictional, post-apocalyptic setting of Hope County, Montana, an area devastated by a nuclear catastrophe. One thing’s for sure; it will be intriguing to see just how much the plot thickens when the game releases on Friday, 15th Feb.

Crackdown 3

Last by not at all least on our list of the top 5 games to hit stores this Feb is Crackdown 3. Finally, after what seems like an eternity, nine years in fact since the previous entry, players can enjoy another lethal dose of explosive, action-packed havoc. Our favorite high-powered vigilante is back ready to thwart the criminal underworld single-handedly. That’s right expect plenty of chaos and carnage synonymous with the series name. The Microsoft-only title arrives on February 15th.

That winds up our list of the top 5 games to hit stores this Feb. What games are you most excited for next month? Let us know your hot picks in the comments.
