TLOU2 Speculation Mounts Regarding Release Date

After what seems like a lifetime in development, fans are still none the wiser as to when “TLOU2” will hit stores. Seemingly, there is no delivery date in sight for the franchise sequel, widely regarded as perhaps Sony’s most lucrative asset. However, noise is mounting, concerning the release day to one of the most anticipated games of all time.

Confusion escalated further when the game featured in a promotional video, published by PlayStation, entitled “upcoming attractions.” During which, fellow triple-A exclusives Ghosts of Tsushima & Death Stranding showed-off their illustrious wares. Naturally, this prompted many to speculate that the game could be gearing up for release in 2019. Of course, these are most probably delusions of grandeur, but it seems to have captured the public’s imaginations.

What’s more, a former editor of IGN Alanah Pearce, set pulses soaring when commenting on the social media platform Twitter. While discussing the most anticipated games confirmed for release in 2019, she expressed her views in the following way:

Subsequently, the tweets are no longer live following deletion, which could mean validation of the facts? Or equally, wrongful exposure? So then, is this a case of misinformation, or a slip of the tongue, from an insider with decent ties to the industry. Is there any substance to these statements?

Of course, we will never find out. However, it’s worth noting that without a firm seal of approval from the development team, nothing is concrete. After all, the rumor mill can be a vicious bowl of unsubstantiated claims, hyperbole, and uncertainty. Meanwhile, it’s virtually impossible to pinpoint precisely when TLOU2 will come out.

If I were a betting man, I would put all my money on the negative. What with so much riding on this game. With that in mind, the developers Naughty Dog are sure to want to bide their time. Perhaps take all the precautionary steps necessary, to ensure that the finished article meets the hype and fan expectation? But who knows, anything is plausible in the video games industry. What we do know, is that we are in for a treat when round two of Joel & Ellie’s odyssey materializes.

Do you think TLOU2 will be out this year? Or is 2020 a more realistic deadline? Let us know your views below.
