The time is upon us, for the top five games to look out for in March 2019. Ever since the new year got underway, games have been coming in thick and fast. So far, we’ve experienced an unrelenting conveyor belt of big-budget blockbusters in coalition with the odd pleasant surprise along the way.
Already, we’ve had the classic survival-horror remake Resident Evil 2, and the brilliant battle-royale Apex Legends. Add to that, the spine-tingling sandbox Metro Exodus and the fitting closing chapter in the Kingdom Hearts Trilogy. Despite these significant releases, the month of March, true to form, promises to be just as pivotal a period in the gaming calendar. With that in mind, here are the top five games to look out for in March 2019.
The Division 2 (PS4, PC & Xbox One) March 15th
First on this list, is the second installment in the Tom Clancy-themed series of games. Comparatively, the second entry looks set to deliver on the initial promises of the first. Moreover, switching up the setting from New York City to Washington D.C is sure to generate plenty of iconic symbolism. In addition to offering new biomes for the player to explore. Not only that but radical refinements to the series highly competitive Dark Zone mode are set to solidify the game’s structure. Plus, the potential for more lucrative loot make The Division 2 a must-play. Well worth a place, on our list of the top five games to look out for in March 2019.
Devil May Cry 5 (PS4, PC & Xbox One) March 8th
Devil May Cry 5 is the fifth iteration in the core series, developed by Capcom. Renowned for its hack and slash gameplay, and gothic vistas drenched in atmosphere, “DMC5” is an all-new action-adventure. What’s more, it’s set to re-establish the series as a genre-beater. Both Ebony and Ivory return, alongside an aged Dante. In his bid to once more banish invasive demons back to the afterlife. That said, will the dapper, demon-slayer return to produce his finest hour? Well, only time will tell. We’re just happy to see the DMC office open for business once again.
Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice (PS4, PC & Xbox One) March 22
FromSoftware is infamous for their brutal brand of punishing, risk and reward gameplay. And those core principles look set to stay. A revenge story at its heart, “Sekiro” changes the narrative to incorporate a more personalized yet fixed story, involving intimate character progression. Aside from that, the game offers more scalability within its levels, with verticality playing a huge role in events. We can’t wait to explore a dystopian version of 16th century Sengoku Japan. Better still, those prosthetic gadgets look amazing, and we’re dying to put them to the test. All in all, the game acts as a fitting entry on our list of the top five games to look out for in March 2019.
Tropico 6 (PS4, PC & Xbox One) March 29th
The Tropico series is famed for its competent mix of strategy and settlement building elements. All of which has allowed the series to flourish down the ages. Now, it’s time once again to select whether you want to adopt a reign of terror. Or instill an era of peace as the President of Banana Republic. Will you become corrupt with power? Or work alongside people to ensure prosperity during the four ages of governance? In truth, we can’t wait for Tropico 6. Surely then, a welcome entry on our list of the top five games to look for in March 2019.
The Sinking City (PS4, PC & Xbox One) March 21
We cap-off this list with perhaps the most obscure. Seemingly, having gone under the radar, The Sinking City could well be the surprise package of March. Filled with unimaginable, Lovecraftian horrors this survival horror full of malevolent mysteries could embody the stuff of nightmares when it releases toward the tail end of this month. To sum up, a great way to end this list of the top five games to look out for in March 2019.
All in all, March is shaping up to be a stand-out month. Is there no end to the catalog of titanic titles set for 2019? What game are you most looking forward to getting your hands on? Please write in with any contributions.
