Perhaps then, the essential inclusion here is the option to tinker with enemy-scaling. According to Ubisoft, this element is “One of the most community requested features since launch.” (Assassinscreed.ubisoft.com, 2019)
Come January 10th; players will be able to modify enemy-leveling to match their requirements. The new feature can be found via the options menu and contains four varying degrees of enemy difficulty. Light and Very Light fluctuate between two and four levels beneath that of the players. Meanwhile, Heavy mode, reserved for only the most seasoned of veterans, ensures that enemies to stay true to your level — a state which lasts the entirety of the game.
As this option has been in demand for some time now, it’s fantastic to see Ubisoft taking decisive action and listening to fan feedback. Pat on the back Ubisoft, you’ve earnt it. More of the same, please.
Moving on, Ubisoft unveiled the latest episode in The Legacy of the First Blade questline. And at first sight, the signs look promising. After investigating a barricade led by The Order of the Ancients, players will get to engage in maritime battles on the Aegean Sea.
All the while, players must weather the storm, depose of a high-ranking navy general, and steal a top-secret weapon. Are you up to the task, well, you can find out, when the expansion hits shelves mid-January. Deep Ocean battles went down a treat in Black Flag, and the latest maritime endeavors look just as mouth-watering. Sit tight for more info on this in the months ahead.
As if that wasn’t enough content, a new challenge at the end of the game will pit players against the legendary Cyclops. Although, this mythical creature is an end-game addition. That said, players are advised to reach level fifty before taking on the one-eyed behemoth. By the way, should you run the gauntlet and overcome this beast, the rewards are plentiful. The Hammer of Hephaistos awaits, take that Thor!
With all-new merc tiers, in-game vendors and cool cosmetics thrown into the mix, there’s a buzz in the air, and the new year has most definitely started with a bang!
